Speaker’s Corner and Tommy Robinson

Tommy Robinson defies UK Government’s attack on Freedom of Speech
Campaigner Tommy Robinson delivered Activist Martin Sellner’s speech to an enthusiastic crowd of many hundreds of supporters at Speaker’s Corner on Sunday 18th March 2018. Austrian born Mr. Sellner and his girlfriend, Brittany Pettibone were detained and held for 3 days before being deported at the hands of the UK Government.
There were scores of Muslims present, but they were easily outnumbered by those who had come in support of Mr. Robinson’s stand to defend freedom of speech. I can only report on one incident that happened about 30 minutes before his arrival. I saw one injured police officer being led away for treatment by a colleague. A Muslim man was arrested, handcuffed and loaded into a police van. A witness in the crowd told me that the police officer had been punched in the face. Film that I took at the scene suffered technological interference probably from some kind of police suppressant device.
This woman makes an amusing case for not wearing a Niqab and not being a Muslim
Muslim men responded to a call to prayer after Tommy Robinson Left and the crowds started to disperse.
Flags of Defiance flutter in the chill wind at Speaker’s Corner
Many, especially those in the Main Stream Media, are very quick to call people they do not like or who has a different opinion as “Far Right”, but they never explain what they mean by Right or Left.
Politics is basically about the relationship between the individual and the collective (the state). From that perspective, if you favour big government and maximizing state control, then you are politically Left Wing. If, on the other hand, you want smaller government and maximum individualism, then you are Right Wing. I believe the ‘wing’ part stems from the French Revolution days.
In 1789 the French Assembly consisted of a Right Wing and a Left Wing. Militarism, dictatorship and fascism are not the sole preserve of the Right. Adolf Hitler and his National Socialist Workers Party espoused Marxism and openly despised capitalism. Benito Mussolini was the first to establish fascism (in Italy) and received a letter of commendation from Lenin himself. It has been one of the big lies in history to spin these regimes as Far Right.
